my white room

i never saw a moor—
i never saw the sea—
yet know i how the heather looks
and what a billow be.

lupins, in light peach and purple are the ones i never saw
living around them as a child they became part of my side
that will always stay first. with sun, our flat on the fifth floor
no elevator, rusty tub filled with rain water raspberry bushes

we go for a walk every other day eat ice cream wrapped in paper
and getting ready for something new
