my white room

i never saw a moor—
i never saw the sea—
yet know i how the heather looks
and what a billow be.

we went to park, to see the first greens
and first signs, but did not find any. only
two days later they appeared.

these birches are still hold by the sticks but do not need
them anymore. maybe i am feeling the same way. each
grows in the swampy lake around her. half of april.

here and there, you are saving me.

  4. as ever
your painting is full of delicacy and tenderness
birches are my most beloved trees
clad in white, growing in poor lands
two of them in my garden
