my white room

i never saw a moor—
i never saw the sea—
yet know i how the heather looks
and what a billow be.

meditation round flower loom, made by my dad

montessori practical life activity, circular art weaving

this is all about floral patterns.. concentration, patience, rhythm, control and coordination.
it is not practical, but i love the idea of making something fleeting like a life of a flower..

when the flower is done, string can be tied on the nail (like this knot made at the beginning)
and displayed for a while in a class, like a picture frame, maybe even in the botanical area,
where one can recognise 'the blue flower' from a real world!

lily pad! so simple
endless possibilities..

about details and materials -
made of pine, hand sanded by dad, brass nails, tapestry blunt point
steel needle, small skeins of cotton/viscose and linen thread.

(there are two sets of these available,

if you are interested, please, let me know!)

happy spring, dear friends!
